John often heard his family talking about living a simple life.  When John was old enough he went out into the desert to live a simple life, he wore light clothes and ate locus and honey.

One day John went out and started to say, "Prepare, prepare for the one who is coming".  A Woman came up and said "what must we do".  "Live a simple life and be kind to others" he told her.

One day John went out for a long walk, and when he came back Jesus was waiting there.  Jesus asked John to baptise him.  John Told Jesus that it was him who should baptise John.  But Jesus said "no I want you to baptise me".

So John and Jesus got into the water.  Jesus then got into the water.  Suddenly the clouds opened and a white dove came down and God spoke, he said this is my Son, I am very proud of him.

Everyone was frightened, but God spoke again - "do not be frightened".
